They work overtime to make you feel like part of the family. It's clear they pride themselves on friendly and approachable service people. They diagnosed my main problem and offered me a price-based range of solutions that were clearly-explained. I wish they could have helped me more with a secondary issue, but they aren't the only mechanics that didn't fix it...

My car (a '97 Mercedes) was experiencing rough idle, so I took it to Certified because of a recommendation from a co-worker. I told them I just wanted the problem diagnosed before they did any work. They said they'd charge me $80 for that. I wasn't thrilled but understood they needed to be compensated for their time. I also asked for an oil change while they had the car in the shop.
It took hours and hours for them to get back to me -- I had to call several times to press for an update. Finally, at almost the end of the day, they told me it was the ignition coils and wiring harness, and that performing the work was going to cost almost $1,200. I told them never mind, that we'd try to have my husband (who had done other work on the car) perform the repairs. When I went to pick up the car, not only did I find they'd charged me EIGHTY DOLLARS for an oil change that had never cost more than $40 anywhere else, the car was now barely running. I managed to limp it home (luckily, we only lived a few blocks away), but a car that at least had been drivable was now pretty much useless. We ended up ordering the replacement parts from PartsGeek.com for around $300, and my husband did the work in around two hours. So as far as I can tell, Certified was trying to charge us an hourly rate of about $200. Nice work if you can get it, huh? Anyway, these people are terrible. If you live in Glendora, I'd suggest going to Brian Wood if you have a domestic vehicle and Glendora Foreign Automotive Service if you have an import.
